Ok, so i have been totally neglecting my blog. But hey, who really looks at my blog! i just had to follow everyone else and say i have a blog. So here i am, finally posting. A couple of months late, but anyway. I love "junk" shopping. it is one thing my husband and i can really enjoy doing together. At least i like when he is with, so he can pay for my loot!! anyway, i am really loving the vintage postcards, and when i found this one, i had to have it. who knows where it is now, as i am sure my mom either threw it away or burned it in the fireplace :( oh well. i used glimmermist,bling, and kraft paper and handmade flowers.

Here is another layout of Ellie's baptism. This is my grandma holding her. They share the same name, other then the Lynn that i added to Ellie's middle names. here is a super fun layout that Michelle Chikos who is a Close To My Heart consultant did for our monthly kit club. The paper pack is topstitch. Cathy from Altered Art had some luminiere paint that i had to streak across the page. It was to CLEAN for me prior to that. This picture of Ellie is one of her in my favorite outfits. We went to the circus last year, and she did not like it too much, so we played while my mom and Ben stayed and watched the circus. I spent this weekend a Michele's seriously scrappin fun retreat. It was PHENOMENAL!! I had soo much fun with my Friends. I won the BIG prize... Thank You Michele!!

I saw this frame at the retreat in Chamberlain. Lynn with scrappin ladies had this as a class and i fell in love. The frame is from adorn-it, and it has a plexi center with vinyl wording about family. i am a little of a perfectionist and did not like how the letters transposed to the plexi, so i decided to make it a frame. This is one of my fav pictures of Ellie and myself, so i had to use it. The paper is from MME quite contrary line , the embelishment bling are prima, and i made the rose with core-dinations. All of those came from THE PLAYGROUND. Then the beads, man do i love vintage jewelry, and to top that off with a lovely vintage rose link from a necklace. I love love love how this turned out. Oh yeah, i am really into my glimmer mist, so i sprayed it with marshmellow!!

No pictures for this post, butt hopefully a little laugh. As i am sitting @ the table tonight, making some pillow boxes for some breast cancer awareness bracelets the kids are playing outside. I have all of the windows open and can watch them outside and hear them. Well, at least i could hear them. I heard a lot of screaming laughter and looked out and saw 2 ladies walking their dog and laughing, and just prior to that a car drove by and just stared. I figured i better go check things out. There was my son, my sweet Ben, with a t shirt on, and nothing else. yep, he bent over, pulled his cheeks apart and gave the ladies, yet another full moon. Thats my BOY!! How do you not laugh at this????

It has been a long time since my last post. i have been crazy busy. including going to the scrappin ladies retreat in chamberlain. i mainly worked on a birthday gift, but i did get a couple of other things started. i did finish a layout prior to the retreat, i took 10 nights of work. i believe it was well worth it.. the base paper is an orange piece of mme, that i layered music pages on, then covered with jenni bowlin white acrylic paint, and then distressed using tim's distress inks. i glimmer misted the paper and the chipboard faith word. it was a process, and in this process, the cat attacked faith and hence, the rip in the chipboard. i also used utee for the cross, and made a tule flower. then for the pearls, wow! i am loving my vintage jewelry stash.. the picture is of Ellie's hand/bracelet i had made for her baptism.

This is Another one of my favorites, maybe because it has a picture of my dad. I will always be a daddies girl (and mommies girl), i just LOVE my parents. This is a special picture be #1: it is of my dad, and #2 it is out at the family ranch. Ben "helped" my dad pick the bales up out of the field. multiple different papers, grunge board shapes and letters, distress inks, heidi swapp acrylic paint and ALOT of DISTRESSING!! I have been guilty of blog neglect, but i have been busy creating and getting my fingers DIRTY and STICKY. when i first saw this 7 gypsies tray, i HAD to have it. Thanks to Cathy at the PLAYGROUND, my i got it. And i LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! this is probably one of my favorite things that i have made. i used some of my own vintage items, 7 gypsies, maya road, tim holtz, prima flower, and making memories vintage findings. Theses pictures are some of my favs. We typically go to spearfish fish hatchery on sundays in the summer and these were taken there.

I really like this one. It was my first digital layout. I just love the simplicity. I added a distress stickles, prima butterfly and flower. along with one of my special little blings that i have. the ribbon and blue paper were left overs. Wow, i figured out how to decrease the file size, so i could post my 2nd digital layout. i have printed these, however i did not like how my printer printed them, so i tweaked my printer and hopefully i can reprint them without lines on them. and of course the lovely rocket scientist that i am, i took the ones that i did print to work. do think i can remember to bring them home?? nope, i am sooo excited to get out of there, i would leave my keys, purse, phone and self behind if they were not all grouped together and needing the keys to get into and start the car. yep, i am blonde. some would say it is drugs, i am just a TRUE blonde!

Well, i have been wanting to see what this digital craze is about. yep, i LOVE it.. i can now scrap in bed, and then i can print this out later and add some dimension to it. first page.

of course there needs to have some bling and a few other things, but i am cheap and these were all free downloads!!!! not too bad for a first time digital page. i forsee a lot of digital scrapping in my future.. ok i think it will be hybrid. but it was fun. getting my fingers DiRtY and sticky is alot more fun though!!

My Baby Girl turned 2 on the 28th of December. With all of the Christmas bustle, i decided to wait until this weekend to have a birthday party. It was a small party, my parents were in Minnesota watching the Vikings kick some rear, so i just had my sister and aunt over. The party turned out quite nice. I picked My Little Pony for the theme, not knowing how Ellie would like it! and Wow did she really like it. She picked her Ponies out of the cake that she wanted to eat, yes, i cut right into the middle of the cake, for my princess. I bought the cake image off of ebay, and that made this cake simple, simple to decorate. It was actually the quickest cake I have ever made.

Birthday cakes, birthday cakes.... since Ben's first birthday, i have never been able to pick just one cake, so i make what ever i want. this year i had so many ideas, but i only ended up doing 2 cakes, or you could call it 3... and yes, i noticed that i forgot to cross my T. oh well. the cowboy boot was my first at cutting a cake up to make it into the shape i wanted. i think they turned out pretty cute. Ben had to have black boots, no brown at all, however i did do brown and black. then on the round cake, was my first attempt at twisting fondant together. i also cut out horse heads, cowboy boots, and hat out of black fondant and placed them on the side of the cake. separating the fondant pieces, were ~S~, the Sogge brand. i think that the cakes tasted GREAT. anyway, this is one thing that is keeping me busy..

the other thing is, Pat went into my scrapbook room and was going to try to clean!!! YIKES that means THROW EVERYTHING away. so yesterday i went and got 16 jetmax cubes. i was soo excited to get them and start to get organized. that wore off real soon, these cubes are going to take FOREVER to put together. Especially when you have 2 little helpers. oh well! what is the rush???

This card is using on of the Tim Holtz christmas stamps. I used the glitter versamark for the tree, stamped the believe with distress ink and the used perfect pearls on the believe. simple yet i really like it.

Well i have been crazy busy since Thanksgiving. Tree day, Ben's birthday (i only had to make 3 cakes), christmas parties, shopping, baking, being mom and working full time. As well, making it into the world of what i call old age: doctors appointments and meds! and in my spare time, i made some wonderful distress inked Santas. i stamped santa with Tim Holtz stamps and then distress inked them in fire brick and peeled paint. i cut them out and had them
waiting for placement on cards....... then they magically, they disappeared. For those who know my husband, you can guess where they are......YEP, the GARBAGE!!! so this is what i ended with, one. yes one of 20 or so. i was lucky to find it on the side of the cupboard near the garbage. so what good is that?????? oh well cant be mad, as he never says a word about my compulisve and obssesive scrapbook purchases. Well the kids are trying to type and the neighbor's dog is missing so i will post some pictures later!!! Merry Christmas

This is one of those picure that you know you must scrap. and i was on a fancy pants kick, so this is what came out of it. i gues the here comes trouble fits well with this page. and then i found the very first step quote. i was going to give it away to my neice, because i am not so much into clear flat stickers...... but i really liked the wording. and this is what i did. i matted it on the green and then cut it up. the big blue circle is technique tuesday chipboard. i love love love chipboard, and i really have loved these big ones from technique tuesday. thanks for looking!!

this is a fun quick layout i did using fancy pants. When Ben was a little guy, he loved playing with pots and pans. this is one of the cutest picture i got of him , looking through the strainer. he could not walk, but he could crawl over the cupboards and get just what he wanted. and leave everything else on the floor. the circle dot stamp is CTMH, otherwise the rest is Fancy Pants.

Here is a super fun layout i did of my brother, Anthony, and Ben. I really love this layout. When i shared this with my brother, he was in awe..... he said " i never new you were and artist". Now that is a HUGE compliment from my baby bro. i had the patterned paper in my "stash" and decided, i was gonna use it. then i thought of the corrugated cardboard and my design came. i mixed glimmermist with white acrylic paint and added this to the card board and randomly on the layout and picture. I really distressed the love ticket, and that is about all.

I loved this line the moment i saw it and had to get it. This is also one of my fav pictures of Ellie, just look at how happy she is. love, love, love the smile. The purple cardstock is bazzill, however it is majorly glimmermisted. The flowers are prima, and again glimmermisted. the patterned paper and chipboard, as well as brads are basic grey. Embroidered thread, DMC. and of course my beautiful beaded centerpiece is one of my favs..... i would like it to be my signature when ever i get the chance to put a beaded cluster on.. thanks for looking. did i say i love this layout??/

Halloween~ i am running a little late for adding this on here, but i had it started on the first, however Ben's picture would not load, so i had to get another one. Here is the world's most handsome cowboy,,,,, BEN. he looked so cute.

This is a picture of my cuties going to my grandma's apartment. Ben was not cooperating for picures, and i wanted one with the 2 of them. not soo great!!

Princess Elizabeth was just loving the camera attention. i made her top with glimmer mist and bling. it started out completely white. the tutu is from hannahtutus on etsy. and this is the most gorgeous tutu. The queen (me) actually loaned Ellie one of my crowns for her hair.

Just a personal note here. Yes, it does include scrapbooking, but it also supports your local stores. I have seen alot of 3/50 projects out in the scrapbooking blogs. i thought it was something like the 365 kit. BOY was i WRONG. I finally decided to look at was this was. and it is pretty amazing. i have totally changed the way i feel about things. Knowing Cathy at the local scrapbook store and how amazing she is, this whole project brings on a new meaning to me.. Shop LOCAL and how important it is to shop LOCAL and not the CHAIN STORES, more like some would call "mom and pop" or "family" stores. if you have not heard or read about project 3/50 , i encourage you to do so. check it out here http://www.the350project.net/home.html.

for one thing the customer service at the smaller joints is amazing. never once have i walked into hobby lobby or michaels, or target, or walmart and had some one show me a new technique, a project, or design ideas. but down at http://alteredplayground.blogspot.com/ Cathy is amazingly talented. Not only that she does FREE make and takes to teach us how to do different things. Cathy will special order anything in for you. i know i look online all of the time and find things i MUST have.. i let Cathy know and she typically gets what i want.
i also love going to my local family grocery store. i do alot of grocery shopping there. it is so convient and i dont go crazy about how crazy the store is. any way

My first try at making a diaper wreath and diaper cake. i am a little simplistic on these. i do say i love the little converses on the diaper wreath and George on the cake.

My beautiful neice Brittany is due to have a baby at the end of the month. Today i am throwing her a shower, at her mom's house! Here is what i put together for her shower. She is having a baby boy, and she plans on naming him Jackson. I love the monkey theme. Monkey paper is from reminisce and craft paper from the playground.

here is a super fun layout that i did, with the help from Ben! i started out with a plain craft 12x12 i used distress ink and then stampes with acrylic paint in various alphas. all with the help of Ben. then i found some cardboard that i tore and distressed this with distress ink. the BOY is stamped from tim holtz stamps and distress ink. the other letters, i used quickutz. I have been waiting to do these pictures, i just did not have the right passion and ideas for this. i am super happy with how this came out. especially since the fact i put more then one picure on a page!!! a little background behind the picures. My mom picked Ben up from daycare one day and this is how i got my little sweet boy back. Ben has sooo much fun at my parents, i am some day hoping that we can move to the country also. thanks for looking!!

After Ellie threw my camera into the lake, i had to get a new camera. i know that i am definitely camera illiterate, so i just got a point and shoot. i got a sony and i really liked it. but then i kept on looking at cameras and decided i HAVE to try a DSLR. and i am sooo happy that i did. i got a canon rebel and yep, i am in love. i thought i would share some pictures. Ellie of course loves the camera, but Ben does NOT!! so how can i not stop but taking pictures of Ellie. she is so CUTE!! i love the wind blowing Ellie's hair, this was my camera first debut. i of course was immediately hooked when i saw this picture. Ben's picture i had to beg him to just please,please sit. he is so handsome. The pictures of Ellie and the flowers were taken at Canyon Lake. She was just soaking up the cameras attention.

Here is a page that I did at my at a monthly close to my heart club that i belong to. the consultant is michelle chikos, and she is super fun! We get together monthly and she does a little make and take and this month was a layout. SUPER FUN!!! she gave us the layout plan and paper and we went from there. i had to use the watermark stamp that matches the paper line i used. i used cosmo chipboard letters. this is a picture that Pat took on one of our many trips to Spearfish Fish Hatchery. tfl!!!

OuR 1st CaMpiNG TriP in OuR NEW Camper

Well, almost a month after buying our new camper, we were able to go camping. Thanks to my dad for towing it up to the campground! Pat has to work till at least 7pm every week night and 6pm on saturdays. Well, my dad set up our camper, thank goodness he knows about campers, because i am a complete newby to the whole camper camping thing. I was then alone in the DARK, ok, i had electric but it was DARK outside, with the kids and Grace. Pat finally arrived around 10:30 pm. I DID NOT SLEEP @ all! Ellie kept me up all night. Pat went to work on Saturday and left by 7:30am. Did i mention yet, that Grace is in heat!! So KC is an absolute nut!! Pat took KC with him, so i did not have to explain the whole birds and bees to Ben, who can not stop saying WHY, WHY, WHY, even when you have explained everything possible and every different way possible. So i thought, I am going to be a good mom and take the kids to the lake and let Grace swim. We were having a wonderful time. Grace is an awesome swimmer and Ben did a GREAT job at throwing sticks in the water for her. It was time to go to the mining claim for a family get together so i turned to get everything in order, and Ellie threw something in the lake for Grace to get. The only problem is, CAMERAS don't float. In to the lake i went~ Ben screaming that i was going to drown, and Ellie looking so dang cute just waiting for me to retrieve her "STICK". No such luck~ and i was soaked!!! i had no extra clothes in the car, so all the way back to the campground, soaking wet and smelling like FISH! So now i have no pictures, just this blog for my memory of camping. We went to the mine, and wow, do i love my dad's family, THEY ALL HATE DOGS!!!! i could not hear one more word about dogs from my aunt or i would of ........ well, we made that a quick trip to the mine. on the way back to the campground it started pouring! i made 2 trips from the car to the camper and i was soaked all the way through my underclothes!!! so now, my type of camping is WiFi and cell service. so i was checking out 2peas, and my computer CRASHED!!! have i told you that, that is where all of my pictures were!!! yeah, no longer have my pictures!! Dell is sending me a new piece to hopefully fix my computer, but all info is going to be gone!!!! OUCH! so there was our first camping trip. many more like it, and i will decide camping is just way too expensive. And can i say that i loved my camera!! I hope Horsethief Lake enjoys it as much as i did!

heather from skipping stones stamps wanted some sample cards for her stamps~ this is what i came up with. i really enjoy the bra stamps and the "hang in there". i thought these would be some cute cards for our breast cancer patients. there is also a "bravissimo" quote, that i thought would make a cute cards for those patients that have finished radiation or chemo. i just have not gotten around to making that one yet. the dolphin stamp and quote are from cornish heritage farms. i just thought it was way too cute. papers used on the cards are ctmh on the bra cards and the flip flop card, bazzill cardstock , and the breast cancer paper, i have no idea where or who i got it from!!

i love, love, love kaiser. and i love my boy. this picture is one of my favs of Ben! People say it shows how much like his mom he is. all paper and brads are kaiser, life chipboard form TLC, and thickers! and when i do one of Ben, i must do one of Ellie~ i love the paper and easy of use of close to my heart. one last layout using this paper pack.

here is what i did for my dad for father's day. Ben helped me paint the frame! Cathy down at the Playground gave me the cute pizza box idea and that is where the fancy pants paper is from also. The other 2 are cards i HAD to do so i could you my sewing machine some more. i LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!! and i LOVE fancy pants...

I am soo excited. for those of you who know me, you know i DO NOT SEW. i have no idea how to even thread the little janome sewing machine for crafting that i have. so when i did sew on my other pages, i had to have someone thread the machine and start the sewing for me. yes, i know i am pathetic. But now, i have an amazing sewing machine, a Janome DC2010, and i can actually use it!!!! for the extremely slow and anal person that i am, this machine is perfect, it has speed control! and to top it off i even got the cricut expression yesterday too. so now with all of the fun new creating things that i got yesterday, i HAD to do something. this is my first project with both of them and i LOVED how it turned out. i used fancy pants all fall 8x8 paper pack, prima flowers, and buttons, all from the scrap playground. the cricut cartridge i used was opposites attract and stock ribbon.

Here is the little card/envelope album that i put together as a way to say a little thanks to Julie for takeing me to the asbs conference in San Diego. She took me sailing and wow was that amazing. i really enjoyed it after i got used to tipping halfway over in the boat. It was an amazing learning experience~ she had no IDEA how much of a sheltered South Dakota girl i really am!!! i discovered ultra thick embossing, thanks to Cathy at the Scrap Playground, and as you can see, i really really like it!!! thanks Cathy

i am a little of a procrastinator, so here are 2 cards i put together on sunday morning for my wonderful mother and my mil. considering that i made them in the morning, i am really happy the way they turned out. yeah, i know, i do not know how to take photos. also i loved the idea of using old sewing patterns as gift wrap, i got the idea from pink owl inspiration. loved how the gift of a simple book looked so special.

A few of us got together at the LSS and had a little fun creating. I had never tried Gesso nor had I played at making lollipop flowers and this is what i came up with. ok! i have a friend who would like to see my darling babies! so i thought i would put on some pictures of the kids on easter. for some reason my camera had alot of issues so my egg hunt pictures and outside easter day pictures have a blur. It also seems like i can get some great pictures of the kids when they are in their car seats, i suppose it is because they can not run away from me!
